حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابَانَ الْجُنْدِيسَابُورِيُّ ثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ
جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَعَهَا صِبْيَانٌ لَهَا صَبِيٌّ تُرْضِعُهُ فَسَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَطَلَبَ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ شَيْئًا يُعْطِيهَا حَتَّى أَصَابَ ثَلَاثَ تَمَرَاتٍ عِنْدَ بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ فَأَعْطَتْ هَذَا وَاحِدًا وَهَذَا وَاحِدًا وَأَمْسَكَتْ تَمْرَةً فَبَكَى أَحَدُ الصَّبِيَّيْنِ فَشَقَّتِ التَّمْرَةَ نِصْفَيْنِ فَأَعْطَتْ هَذَا نِصْفًا وَهَذَا نِصْفًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «حَامِلَاتٌ وَالِدَاتٌ مُرْضِعَاتٌ رَحِيمَاتٌ بِأَوْلَادِهِنَّ لَوْلَا مَا يَأْتِينَ إِلَى أَزْوَاجِهِنَّ لَدَخَلَ مُصَلِّيَاتُهُنَّ الْجَنَّةَ»

✧ A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ with her children, one of whom she was nursing. She asked the Prophet ﷺ, and he searched but found nothing to give her until he obtained three dates from one of his wives. She gave this one one and this one one, and kept one date for herself. One of the two children cried, so she split the date in two and gave half to this one and half to that one. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “They are bearers, mothers, and nursers, merciful to their children. Were it not for what they do with their husbands, their praying women would enter Paradise.”
