حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ الْعُصْفُرِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ السَّوَّاقُ الْعَبْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْقَاهِرِ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ صَاحِبُ الْيَمِينِ أَمِينٌ عَلَى صَاحِبِ الشِّمَالِ فَإِذَا عَمِلَ الْعَبْدُ حَسَنَةً كَتَبَهَا بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا وَإِذَا عَمِلَ سَيِّئَةً وَأَرَادَ صَاحِبُ الشِّمَالِ أَنْ يَكْتُبَهَا قَالَ لَهُ صَاحِبُ الْيَمِينِ أَمْسِكْ عَنْهَا فَيُمْسِكُ عَنْهَا فَإِنِ اسْتَغْفَرَ اللهَ لَمْ يَكْتُبْ وَإِنْ سَكَتَ كُتِبَتْ عَلَيْهِ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: “The companion of the right is a trustee over the companion of the left. When a servant does a good deed, he writes it as ten times its like. When he does an evil deed and the companion of the left wants to write it, the companion of the right says to him: ‘Withhold it.’ So he withholds it. If he seeks Allah’s forgiveness, it is not written; if he remains silent, it is written against him.”
