al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 7876b

✧ I asked: "O Prophet of Allah, how many are the number of prophets?" He replied: "One hundred and twenty-four thousand, among them are three hundred and fifteen messenger groups.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَقِيلٍ أَنَسُ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَاتِكَةِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَسَوَّكُوا فَإِنَّ السِّوَاكَ مَطْيَبَةٌ لِلْفَمِ مَرْضَاةٌ لِلرَّبِّ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Use the tooth-stick, for the tooth-stick is a purifier for the mouth and a means of pleasing the Lord.”
