al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 7875

✧ I asked: "O Prophet of Allah, how many are the number of prophets?" He replied: "One hundred and twenty-four thousand, among them are three hundred and fifteen messenger groups.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدُوسِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ الصُّورِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَاتِكَةِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْعِلْمِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقْبَضَ الْعَالِمُ وَالْمُتَعَلِّمُ شَرِيكَانَ فِي الْأَجْرِ وَلَا خَيْرَ فِي سَائِرِ النَّاسِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “O people, upon you is knowledge before the scholar is taken away. The scholar and the learner are partners in reward, and there is no good in the rest of the people.”
