حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ بَكْرٍ السَّكْسَكِيُّ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيَّ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لِامْرِئٍ مَا احْتَسَبَ وَعَلَيْهِ مَا اكْتَسَبَ وَالْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ وَمَنْ مَاتَ عَلَى ذَنَابَيِ الطَّرِيقِ فَهُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ»

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "A person gets what he intends, and bears what he earns, and a person is with the one he loves. Whoever dies at the end of the road is from its people."
