حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ وأَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَهْبِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ح وحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الصَّعْبِ بْنِ جَثَّامَةَ قَالَ

أَهْدَيْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رِجْلَ حِمَارِ وَحْشٍ وَهُوَ بِوَدَّانَ فَرَدَّهَا عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا رَأَى مَا بِوَجْهِي قَالَ «إِنَّا لَمْ نَرُدَّهُ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا أَنَّا حُرُمٌ»

✧ I gifted to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the leg of a wild donkey while he was at Waddān, and he returned it to me. When he saw what was in my face, he said: "We did not return it to you except that we are in the state of iḥrām."
