✧ Safwan b. Umayyah b. Khalaf al-Jumahi, known as Abu Wahb, came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on the day of the conquest of Mecca. ✧ A thief came to his father while he was sleeping and stole his waist-wrapper from under his head. He woke up, seized him, and brought him to the Prophet ﷺ. He ordered that his hand be cut off. He said, “O Messenger of Allah, I have made it lawful for him.” He said, “Why not before you brought him to me? When a case reaches the ruler concerning any of Allah’s prescribed punishments, he must carry it out.”
