حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ وَارَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ شَدَّادِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَذْكُرُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَجُودُ بِنَفْسِهِ فَقَالَ «مَالَكَ يَا شَدَّادُ؟» قَالَ ضَاقَتْ بِيَ الدُّنْيَا فَقَالَ «لَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ إِنَّ الشَّامَ يُفْتَحُ وَيُفْتَحُ بَيْتُ الْمَقْدِسِ فَتَكُونُ أَنْتَ وَوَلَدُكَ أَئِمَّةً فِيهِمْ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ»

✧ That he was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was dying. He said: “What is the matter with you, O Shaddad?” He said: “The world has become constricted for me.” So he said: “It will not be upon you. Syria will be conquered and Jerusalem will be conquered, and you and your children will be leaders among them, if Allah wills.”
