حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْمُؤْمِنِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ أنا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ بُرْدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ

أَخْبَرَنِي غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْهُمْ شَدَّادُ بْنُ أَوْسٍ وَثَوْبَانُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «رُفِعَ الْقَلَمُ فِي الْحَدِّ عَنِ الصَّغِيرِ حَتَّى يَكْبُرَ وَعَنِ النَّائِمِ حَتَّى يَسْتَيْقِظَ وَعَنِ الْمَجْنُونِ حَتَّى يُفِيقَ وَعَنِ الْمَعْتُوهِ الْهَالِكِ»

✧ More than one of the Companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ, among them Shaddad b. Aws and Thawban, told me that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: “The pen is lifted from the minor until he grows up, from the sleeping person until he wakes, from the insane until he regains his senses, and from the feeble-minded imbecile.”
