وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ «لَا يُقْطَعُ طَرِيقٌ وَلَا يُمْنَعُ فَضْلُ مَاءٍ وَلِابْنِ السَّبِيلِ عَارِيَةُ الدَّلْوِ وَالرَّشَا وَالْحَوْضِ إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَدَّاهُ بِعَيْنِهِ وَيُخَلَّى بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الرَّكِيَّةِ يَسْقِي وَلَا يُمْنَعُ الْمِحْفَرَ إِذَا نَزَلَ الْحَافِرُ خَمْسَةً وَعِشْرِينَ ذِرَاعًا عَطَنًا لِلْمَاشِيَةِ»
Translation
Chain of narrators
- Samurah
✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ used to say: 'A road is not to be blocked, and surplus water is not to be withheld. The wayfarer is entitled to the loan of the bucket, the rope, and the trough; if he does not return it in kind, he is left between it and the well to water, and he is not prevented from digging when the digger reaches twenty-five cubits as a watering place for livestock.'
