حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ عَلِّمْنِي سُنَّةَ الْأَذَانِ فَمَسَحَ مُقَدَّمَ رَأْسَهِ قَالَ تَقُولُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ تَرْفَعُ بِهَا صَوْتَكَ ثُمَّ تَقُولُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ تَخْفِضُ بِهَا صَوْتَكَ ثُمَّ تَقُولُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ فَإِنْ كَانَ صَلَاةُ الصُّبْحِ قُلْتَ الصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ الصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ

✧ I said: O Messenger of Allah, teach me the Sunnah of the call to prayer. He wiped the front of his head and said: You say: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, raising your voice with it. Then you say: I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, lowering your voice with it. Then you raise your voice with the testimony, then you say: I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Hasten to the prayer, Hasten to the prayer, Hasten to success, Hasten to success. If it is the dawn prayer, you say: Prayer is better than sleep, Prayer is better than sleep. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, there is no deity except Allah.
