حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُوسَى الشَّامِيُّ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سِيدَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
أَشْرَفَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْقَلِيبِ فَقَالَ «يَا أَهْلَ الْقَلِيبِ هَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا؟» فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَهَلْ يَسْمَعُونَ؟ قَالَ «يَسْمَعُونَ كَمَا تَسْمَعُونَ وَلَكِنْ لَا يُجِيبُونَ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ looked over the people of the well and said: "O people of the well, have you found what your Lord promised to be true?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, do they hear?" He said: "They hear as you hear, but they do not respond."
