حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ثنا عَطَاءُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنَعْمَلُ عَلَى مَا قَدْ جَفَّ بِهِ الْقَلَمُ وَجَرَتْ بِهِ الْمَقَادِيرُ أَوْ لِأَمْرٍ مُسْتَقْبَلٍ؟ قَالَ «يَا سُرَاقَةُ اعْمَلْ لِمَا جَفَّ بِهِ الْقَلَمُ وَجَرَتْ بِهِ الْمَقَادِيرُ فَإِنَّ كَلًّا مُيَسَّرٌ»

✧ I said: O Messenger of God, shall we act upon what the pen has already dried with and the decrees have already unfolded, or upon some future matter? He said: "O Suraqah, act upon what the pen has dried with and the decrees have unfolded, for each is facilitated."
