حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الطَّرِيقِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
أَهْلَلْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ لِأَرْبَعٍ خَلَوْنَ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ فَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَحِلَّهَا وَنَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً فَأَحْلَلْنَا الْحِلَّ كُلَّهُ فَطُفْنَا بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ التَّرْوِيَةِ أَمَرَنَا فَأَهْلَلْنَا بِالْحَجِّ فَقَالَ بَعْضُنَا لِبَعْضٍ خَرَجْنَا مِنْ أَرْضِنَا حَتَّى إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ مِنًى إِلَّا أَرْبَعٌ نَخْرُجُ وَمَذَاكِيرُنَا تَقْطُرُ مَنِيًّا؟ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَتَتَّهِمُونِي وَأَنَا أَمِينُ أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ وَأَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ؟ أَمَا إِنِّي لَوِ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ مَا كَانَ الْهَدْيُ إِلَّا مِنْ مَكَّةَ» وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ قِصَّةَ سُرَاقَةَ

✧ We declared intention for pilgrimage with the Prophet ﷺ and arrived in Makkah when four days had passed of Dhū al-Ḥijjah. The Messenger of God ﷺ ordered us to exit the state of consecration and make it an ʿUmrah. We exited the state completely and circumambulated the House and went between al-Ṣafā and al-Marwah. Then on the Day of Tarwiyah he ordered us, and we declared intention for Hajj. Some of us said to others, 'We left our land, and when there were only four days between us and Mina, we are going out while our private parts are dripping semen?' That reached the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said, 'Do you suspect me, while I am the trusted one of the people of heaven and the people of earth? If I had known at the beginning of my affair what I came to know at its end, the sacrificial animals would have come only from Makkah.' He did not mention the story of Surāqah.
