حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نَاجِيَةَ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نَضْلَةَ الْغِفَارِيُّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَبِيعَةَ بْنَ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الشَّاةِ؟ قَالَ «لَكَ أَوْ لِأَخِيكَ أَوْ لِلذِّئْبِ» قَالَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْبَعِيرِ؟ وَكَانَ إِذَا غَضِبَ عُرِفَ ذَلِكَ فِي حُمْرَةِ وَجْنَتَيْهِ فَقَالَ «مَا لَكَ وَلَهُ؟ مَعَهُ سِقَاؤُهُ وَحِذَاؤُهُ يَرِدُ الْمَاءَ وَيَصْدُرُ الْكَلَأَ خَلِّ سَبِيلَهُ حَتَّى يَلْقَى رَبَّهُ»

✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a lost sheep. He said, "It is for you, or for your brother, or for the wolf." He said: And I asked him about a lost camel. When he became angry, it was recognizable by the redness of his cheeks. He said, "What do you have to do with it? It has its own water-skin and its own shoes. It will come to water and eat from the trees. Leave it alone until it meets its Lord."
