حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ قَالَ
أَبُو لَيْلَى جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ الْحَيَّاتِ فِي الْبُيُوتِ فَقَالَ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُنَّ فِي مَسَاكِنِكُمْ فَقُولُوا نُنْشِدُكُمْ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ الَّذِي أَخَذَ عَلَيْكُمْ نُوحٌ نُنْشِدُ الْعَهْدَ الَّذِي أَخَذَ عَلَيْكُمْ سُلَيْمَانُ أَنْ لَا تُؤْذُونَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَ فَاقْتُلُوهُنَّ

✧ Abu Layla: A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about snakes in houses. He said, "When you see them in your dwellings, say: We adjure you by the covenant of God which Noah took upon you, and we adjure you by the covenant which Sulayman took upon you, that you not harm us. If they return, then kill them."
