حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى

عَنْ أَخِيهِ عِيسَى أَوِ الْحَكَمِ أَوْ كِلَيْهِمَا عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ رَأَى حَيَّةً فَلَمْ يَقْتُلْهَا مَخَافَةَ طَلَبِهَا فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا»

✧ From his brother Isa or al-Hakam or both of them, from Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Layla, from his father, who said: The Messenger of God ﷺ said, "Whoever sees a snake and does not kill it for fear of its retaliation is not one of us."
