حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ خُزَاعَى بْنِ زِيَادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا ابْنُ عَائِشَةَ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ أَبِي زُهَيْرٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «تُفْتَحُ الْيَمَنُ فَيَجِيءُ رِجَالٌ يَبُسُّونَ فَيَتَحَمَّلُونَ بِأَهَالِيهِمْ وَمَنْ أَطَاعَهُمْ وَلَكِنَّ الْمَدِينَةَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ ثُمَّ تُفْتَحُ الْعِرَاقُ فَيَجِيءُ رِجَالٌ يَبُسُّونَ فَيَتَحَمَّلُونَ بِأَهَالِيهِمْ وَمَنْ أَطَاعَهُمْ وَالْمَدِينَةُ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ ثُمَّ تُفْتَحُ الشَّامُ فَيَجِيءُ رِجَالٌ يَبُسُّونَ فَيَتَحَمَّلُونَ بِأَهَالِيهِمْ وَمَنْ أَطَاعَهُمْ وَالْمَدِينَةُ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ» زَادَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ عُرْوَةُ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ سُفْيَانَ بْنَ أَبِي زُهَيْرٍ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ فَأَخْبَرَنِي بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ

✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Yemen will be conquered, and men will come driving their camels, taking their families and those who obey them, but Madinah is better for them, if only they knew. Then Iraq will be conquered, and men will come driving their camels, taking their families and those who obey them, but Madinah is better for them, if only they knew. Then Syria will be conquered, and men will come driving their camels, taking their families and those who obey them, but Madinah is better for them, if only they knew.” Ahmad b. Dawud al-Makki added in his hadith: ‘Urwa said: Then I met Sufyan b. Abi Zuhayr at the time of his death, and he reported this hadith to me.
