حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ثنا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُجَمِّعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كُنَّا فِي الْوَفْدِ الَّذِينَ وَفَدُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَضَرَبَ لَنَا قُبَّتَيْنِ عِنْدَ دَارِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ فَكَانَ بِلَالٌ يَأْتِينَا بِفِطْرِنَا فَنَقُولُ يَا بِلَالُ أَفْطَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَيَقُولُ «نَعَمْ مَا جِئْتُكُمْ حَتَّى أَفْطَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ» فَيَضَعُ فَيَأْكُلُ وَنَأْكُلُ وَكَانَ بِلَالٌ يَأْتِينَا بِسُحُورِنَا

✧ We were among the delegation that came to the Messenger of God ﷺ. He pitched two tents for us near the house of al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah. Bilal used to come to us with our iftar, so we would say, 'O Bilal, has the Messenger of God ﷺ broken his fast?' He would say, 'Yes, I did not come to you until the Messenger of God ﷺ had broken his fast.' Then he would put it down and eat, and we would eat. And Bilal used to come to us with our suhur.
