حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي دَاوُدَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ الْأَفْطَسِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الثَّقَفِيِّ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِنَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ قُلْ لِي قَوْلًا أَنْتَفِعُ بِهِ وَأَقْلِلْ لَعَلِّي أَعْقِلُهُ؟ فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَغْضَبْ» فَعَاوَدَهُ مِرَارًا يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ يَقُولُ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَغْضَبُ»

✧ I said to the Prophet of God ﷺ, 'O Prophet of God, tell me something I can benefit from, and be brief, so that perhaps I can comprehend it.' The Prophet of God ﷺ said, 'Do not get angry.' He repeated it to him several times asking about that, and the Prophet of God ﷺ kept saying, 'Do not get angry.'
