حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ وَمُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا سَلَّامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ ثنا عَقِيلُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جُرَيٍّ الْهُجَيْمِيُّ قَالَ
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ فَنُحِبُّ أَنْ تُعَلِّمَنَا عَمَلًا لَعَلَّ اللهَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنَا بِهِ؟ قَالَ «لَا تَحْقِرَنَّ مِنَ الْمَعْرُوفِ شَيْئًا وَلَوْ أَنْ تُفْرِغَ مِنْ دَلْوِكَ فِي إِنَاءِ الْمُسْتَسْقِي وَلَوْ أَنْ تُكَلِّمَ أَخَاكَ وَوَجْهُكَ مُنْبَسِطٌ إِلَيْهِ»

✧ I said: O Messenger of Allah, we are people from the desert, and we would like you to teach us a deed through which Allah may benefit us. He said: "Do not consider any act of kindness insignificant, even pouring from your bucket into the vessel of one seeking water, and even speaking to your brother with a cheerful face."
