حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ الْمَنِيحِيُّ ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ
أَنَّ مَعْدَانَ كَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ رَجُلٍ خُصُومَةٌ فِي أَرْضٍ فَارْتَفَعَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ عَلَى أَحَدِهِمَا فَقَالَ الْآخَرُ يَذْهَبُ بِأَرْضِي؟ قَالَ «فَإِنَّهُ إِنْ حَلَفَ بِاللهِ كَاذِبًا» قَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ فَقَالَ قَوْلًا شَدِيدًا

✧ Madaan had a dispute with a man over some land, and they brought the matter to the Prophet ﷺ. He ruled that one of them should take an oath. The other said, "Will he take away my land?" He said, "If he swears by Allah falsely," Ibn Awn said, "he said something severe."
