حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ جَوْنِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْمُحَبِّقِ
أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ مِنْ عِنْدِ امْرَأَةٍ فَقَالَتْ مَا عِنْدِي إِلَّا مَاءٌ فِي قِرْبَةٍ مَيْتَةٍ فَقَالَ «أَلَيْسَ قَدْ دَبَغْتِهَا؟» قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ ذَكَاتَهَا دِبَاغَتُهَا»

✧ The Prophet of God ﷺ, during the expedition of Tabuk, asked a woman for water. She said, 'I only have water in a waterskin from an animal that died.' He said, 'Did you not tan it?' She replied, 'Yes.' He said, 'Its purification is its tanning.'
