حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ فَضَالَةَ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْفَرْوِيُّ ثنا أَبُو ضَمْرَةَ أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الضَّمْرِيِّ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى ابْنِ السِّمْطِ وَهُوَ يُرابِطُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَقَالَ

لَهُ أَلَا أُرَغِّبَنَّكَ فِيمَا أَنْتَ فِيهِ؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «رِبَاطُ يَوْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ صِيَامِ شَهْرٍ وَقِيَامِهِ وَمَنْ مَاتَ مُرَابِطًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ جَرَى لَهُ عَمَلُهُ أَوْ أَعْمَالُهُ وَوُقِيَ فِتْنَةَ الْقَبْرِ»

✧ He said to him: 'Shall I not urge you toward what you are upon?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Ribat (guarding the frontier) for one day in the path of Allah is better than fasting a month and standing in prayer during it. Whoever dies as a murabit in the path of Allah, his deeds continue to be recorded for him, and he is protected from the trial of the grave.'
