✧ Salman al-Farsi, also known as Abu Abdullah, "Accepted Islam Prior to the Prophet's Migration to Medina, Was Enslaved, Died alongside the Prophet in the Battles of Badr and Uhud, and Witnessed the Construction of the Trench. حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا خَلَّادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا فِطْرُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَجَّاجِ الْأَزْدِيِّ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيَّ بأَصْبَهَانَ يَقُولُ «لَا يُؤْمِنُ عَبْدٌ حَتَّى يَعْلَمَ أَنَّ مَا أَصَابَهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُخْطِئَهُ وَمَا أَخْطَأَهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُصِيبَهُ»

✧ I heard Salman al-Farsi in Isfahan say, "A servant does not believe until he knows that what befalls him could not have missed him, and what misses him could not have befallen him."
