حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ؓ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو «كَيْفَ بِكَ إِذَا بَقِيتَ فِي حُثَالَةٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَقَدْ مُزِجَتْ عُهُودُهُمْ وَأَمَانَاتُهُمْ وَاخْتَلَفُوا فَصَارُوا هَكَذَا وَشَبَّكَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ ؟» قَالَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «اعْمَلْ بِمَا تَعْرِفُ وَدَعْ مَا تُنْكِرُ وَإِيَّاكَ وَالتَّلَوُّنَ فِي دِينِ اللهِ وَعَلَيْكَ بِخَاصَّةِ نَفْسِكَ وَدَعْ عَوَامَّهُمْ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said to 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr: "How will you be when you remain among the dregs of people, whose covenants and trusts have been mixed up, and they have differed and become like this?" and he interlaced his fingers. He said: "God and His Messenger know best." He said: "Act according to what you know and leave what you disapprove of. Beware of wavering in the religion of God. Keep to your own self and leave the common people."
