حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا الصَّلْتُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الْخَنْدَقِ وَنَحْنُ نَحْفُرُ وَهُوَ يَنْقُلُ التُّرَابَ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ لَا عَيْشَ إِلَّا عَيْشُ الْآخِرَةِ فَاغْفِرْ لِلْأَنْصَارِ وَالْمُهَاجِرَةِ»

✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ at the Trench while we were digging and he was carrying away the dirt. He said: “O God, there is no life but the life of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansar and the Muhajirun.”
