حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا عَارِمٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ الْعَبَّادَانِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَعَرَضَتْ نَفْسَهَا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «مَا لِي فِي النِّسَاءِ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ حَاجَةٍ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ زَوِّجْنِيهَا فَقَالَ «مَا عِنْدَكَ؟» فَقَالَ مَا عِنْدِي مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَقَالَ «أَعْطِهَا وَلَوْ خَاتَمًا مِنْ حَدِيدٍ» قَالَ مَا عِنْدِي مِنْ شَيْءٍ قَالَ «فَمَا عِنْدَكَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ؟» قَالَ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ «فَقَدْ مَلَّكْتُكَهَا بِمَا عِنْدَكَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ» وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ عَارِمٍ

✧ A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and offered herself to him. He said, 'I have no need for women today.' A man said, 'O Messenger of God, marry her to me.' He said, 'What do you have?' He said, 'I have nothing.' He said, 'Give her something, even an iron ring.' He said, 'I have nothing.' He said, 'What do you have of the Qurʾān?' He said, 'Such-and-such.' He said, 'I have given her to you in marriage for what you have of the Qurʾān.' The wording is that of the ḥadīth of ʿĀrim.
