حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ثنا أَبُو حَازِمٍ قَالَ
اخْتَلَفَ النَّاسُ بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ دُووِيَ جُرْحُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَسَأَلُوا سَهْلًا وَكَانَ مِنْ آخِرِ مَنْ بَقِيَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ «مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَحَدٌ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي كَانَتْ فَاطِمَةُ ؓ تَغْسِلُ الدَّمَ عَنْ وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلِيٌّ ؓ يَأْتِي بِالْمَاءِ فِي تُرْسِهِ فَأَخَذَ حَصِيرًا فَأُحْرِقَ وَحُشِيَ بِهِ جُرْحُهُ»

✧ The people disagreed about what the wound of the Messenger of God ﷺ was treated with on the day of Uḥud, so they asked Sahl, who was among the last of the companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ remaining in Madinah. He said, “No Muslim remains who knows more about it than I. Fāṭimah ؓ was washing the blood from the face of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and ʿAlī ؓ was bringing water in his shield. A mat was taken and burned, and his wound was stuffed with it.”
