حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ثنا أَبُو حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ
أَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْ غَزَاةٍ لَهُ فِي يَوْمٍ حَارٍّ فَوُضِعَ لَهُ مَاءٌ يَتَبَرَّدُ بِهِ فَجَاءَ الْعَبَّاسُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ فَوَلَّاهُ ظَهْرَهُ وَسَتَرَهُ بِكِسَاءٍ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «مَنْ هَذَا؟» فَقَالَ عَمُّكَ الْعَبَّاسُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْنَا مِنَ الْكِسَاءِ وَقَالَ «سَتَرَكَ اللهُ يَا عَمِّ وذُرِّيَّتَكَ مِنَ النَّارِ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ returned from one of his expeditions on a hot day. Water was placed for him to cool himself with it. Al-Abbas, may God have mercy on him, came and turned his back to him and covered him with a cloak he was wearing. He said: "Who is this?" He said: "Your uncle al-Abbas, O Messenger of God." When the Prophet ﷺ finished, he raised his hands until they appeared from the cloak and said: "May God cover you and your offspring from the Fire, O uncle."
