حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بَالَ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ بَوْلَ الشَّيْخِ الْكَبِيرِ يَكَادُ يَسْبِقُهُ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَلَا تَنْزِعُ؟ قَالَ «لَا قَدْ رَأَيْتُ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي مَسَحَ عَلَيْهِمَا»

✧ I saw Sahl b. Sa'd, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, urinate while standing, the urination of an old man such that it almost raced from him. Then he performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks. I said to him: "Will you not take them off?" He said: "No, for I have seen one better than me wipe over them."
