حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ
أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِقَدَحٍ فَشَرِبَ وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ غُلَامٌ مِنْ أَصْغَرِ الْقَوْمِ وَالْأَشْيَاخُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ فَقَالَ «يَا غُلَامُ أَتَأْذَنُ لِي أَنْ أُعْطِيَهِ الْأَشْيَاخَ؟» قَالَ مَا كُنْتُ لِأُوثِرَ بِفَضْلِ فِيكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَأَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ
Translation

✧ A cup was brought to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he drank from it. On his right was a boy, the youngest of the people, and the elders were on his left. He said: “O boy, will you permit me to give it to the elders?” He replied: I would not prefer anyone over the remnant of your lips, O Messenger of God. So he gave it to him.
