حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي الطَّاهِرِ بْنِ السَّرْحِ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنِي الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ لَمَّا تَلَاعَنَّا
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اقْبِضْهَا إِلَيْكَ حَتَّى تَلِدَ فَإِنْ تَلِدْهُ أَحْمَرَ مِثْلَ وَحَرَةٍ فَهُوَ لِأَبِيهِ عُوَيْمِرٍ الَّذِي انْتَفَى مِنْهُ وَإِنْ تَلِدْهُ أَسْوَدَ اللِّسَانِ وَالشَّعْرِ فَهُوَ لِابْنِ السَّحْمَاءِ» الرَّجُلِ الَّذِي يَرْمِي بِهِ قَالَ عُوَيْمِرٌ فَلَمَّا وَلَدَتْهُ أَتَيْتُ بِهِ فَاسْتَقْبَلَنِي مِثْلَ الْفَرْوَةِ السَّوْدَاءِ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُ بِلِحْيَيْهِ فَاسْتَقْبَلَنِي لِسَانُهُ مِثْلُ التَّمْرَةِ فَقُلْتُ صَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “Take her to yourself until she gives birth. If she bears him red like a small lizard, then he belongs to his father, Uwaymir, the one who disowned him. But if she bears him black of tongue and hair, then he belongs to Ibn al-Sahma’, the man with whom she is accused.” Uwaymir said: When she gave birth, I brought him, and he met me like a black hide. Then I took hold of his jaws and his tongue met me like a date. I said, “God and His Messenger have spoken truly.”
