حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأَسْلَمِيُّ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَهْلٍ قَالَ
كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بَالخَنْدَقِ فَأَخَذَ الْكِرْزِينَ فَحَفَرَ بِهِ فَصَادَفَ حَجَرًا فَضَحِكَ فَقِيلَ مَا يُضْحِكُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «ضَحِكْتُ مِنْ نَاسٍ يَأْتُونَكُمْ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْمَشْرِقِ ويُسَاقُونَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَهُمْ كَارِهُونَ»

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ at the Trench. He took a pickaxe and dug with it, and he came upon a stone, and he laughed. It was said, “What makes you laugh, O Messenger of God?” He said, “I laughed at people who will come to you from the direction of the east and will be driven to Paradise while they are unwilling.”
