حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسنِ الْخَفَّافُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ قَالَ

حَضَرْتُ لِعَانَهُمَا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فَلَمَّا فَرَغَا مِنْ تَلَاعُنِهِمَا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَذَبْتُ عَلَيْهَا إِنْ أَمْسَكْتُهَا قَالَ «فَطَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثًا» وَقَالَ وَاللهِ لَئِنْ كَذَبْتُ لَقَدْ تَحَمَّلْتُ فِرْيَةً ثُمَّ مَرَّتْ حَامِلًا وَكَانَ الْوَلَدُ إِلَى أُمِّهِ

✧ I attended their li‘ān in the presence of the Messenger of God ﷺ when I was fifteen years old. When they finished their mutual cursing, ‘Uwaymir said, “O Messenger of God, I have lied against her if I keep her.” He said, “So he divorced her three times.” And he said, “By God, if I lied, I have borne a false accusation.” Then she passed by pregnant, and the child was attached to its mother.
