حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْخَفَّافُ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عِيَاضُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْفِهْرِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ

«أَنَّ الْمُلَاعِنَ طَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثَ تَطْلِيقَاتٍ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَنْفَذَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ مَا صُنِعَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ سُنَّةً» قَالَ سَهْلٌ «حَضَرْتُ هَذَا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَمَضَتِ السُّنَّةُ بَعْدُ فِي الْمُتَلَاعِنَيْنِ أَنْ يُفَرَّقَ بَيْنَهُمَا ثُمَّ لَا يَجْتَمِعَانِ أَبَدًا» قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ «وَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ بِئْسَ عَبْدُ اللهِ أَنَا إِنْ كَذَبْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وتَحَمَّلْتُ فِرْيَةً»

✧ The one who performed li‘ān divorced her with three divorces in the presence of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and the Messenger of God ﷺ enforced it. What was done in the presence of the Messenger of God ﷺ became sunnah.” Sahl said, “I witnessed this in the presence of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and the sunnah was thereafter established concerning the two parties of li‘ān: that they be separated and never be reunited.” Ibn Shihāb said, “The man said at that time, ‘What a bad servant of God I am if I lied in the presence of the Messenger of God ﷺ and bore a false accusation.’”
