حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا اطَّلَعَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنْ سُتْرَةِ الْحُجْرَةِ وَفِي يَدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِدْرًى فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا يَنْتَظِرُنِي حَتَّى آتِيَهُ لَطَعَنْتُ بِالْمِدْرَى فِي عَيْنِهِ وَهَلْ جُعِلَ الِاسْتِئْذَانُ إِلَّا مِنْ أَجْلِ الْبَصَرِ»

✧ A man looked at the Prophet ﷺ from behind the curtain of the room, while the Prophet ﷺ had a comb in his hand. The Prophet ﷺ said: “If I knew that this man was waiting for me to come to him, I would poke the comb into his eye. Was permission to enter made except for the sake of sight?”
