✧ Son of al-Hanzhaliyyah al-Ansari from the tribe of Harithah, his mother's name is al-Hanzhaliyyah and his father's name is Afif. He used to reside in Damascus, Syria.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ رِشْدِينَ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ «اجْتَنِبُوا الْكَبَائِرَ السَّبْعَ» فَسَكَتَ النَّاسُ فَلَمْ يَتَكَلَّمْ أَحَدٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَلَا تَسْأَلُونِي عَنْهُنَّ؟ الشِّرْكُ بِاللهِ وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ وَالْفِرَارُ مِنَ الزَّحْفِ وَأَكَلُ مَالِ الْيَتِيمِ وَأَكَلُ الرِّبَا وَقَذْفُ الْمُحْصَنَةِ وَالتَّعَرُّبُ بَعْدَ الْهِجْرَةِ»

✧ I heard the Prophet ﷺ on the pulpit saying: 'Avoid the seven major sins.' The people fell silent, and no one spoke. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Will you not ask me about them? Associating partners with God, killing a soul, fleeing from the battlefield, consuming the orphan's wealth, consuming riba, slandering chaste women, and becoming a bedouin after emigration.'
