al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 5550

✧ Sahl b. Hunayf b. Wahib b. Hakim, also known as Uqaym b. Tha'laba b. Majda'a b. Al Harith b. 'Amr, known as Abu Thabit "Badr'i", died in Kufa, and Ali b. Abi Talib prayed upon him.

حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو شُرَيْحٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَهْلَ بْنَ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ سَأَلَ اللهَ الشَّهَادَةَ صَادِقًا مِنْ قَلْبِهِ بَلَّغَهُ اللهُ مَنَازِلَ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَإِنْ مَاتَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Whoever asks God for martyrdom sincerely from his heart, God will bring him to the stations of the martyrs even if he dies on his bed.”
