حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا لَيْثُ بْنُ هَارُونَ الْعُكْلِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ قَالُوا ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي جَدِّي عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعِيدٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ «أَيُّنَا أَكْبَرُ؟» قَالَ أَنْتَ أَكْبَرُ وَخَيْرٌ مِنِّي وَأَنَا أَقْدَمُ سِنًّا فَسَمَّاهُ سَعِيدًا وَقَالَ الصَّرْمُ قَدْ ذَهَبَ

✧ That the Messenger of God ﷺ said to him, “Which of us is older?” He said, “You are greater and better than I, but I am older in years.” So he named him Sa'id and said, “The toothless one has gone.”
