al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 5366

✧ Saad b. Ubadah al-Ansari, then al-Khazraji, a follower from Badr and Uhud, a captain, known as Abu Thabit, he stayed in Sham and passed away there.

حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ يَحْيَى التُّجِيبِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ شَاهِينَ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ اسْتَفْتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي نَذْرٍ نَذَرَتْهُ أُمُّهُ ثُمَّ مَاتَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقْضِيَهُ قَالَ «اقْضِهِ عَنْهَا»

✧ Sa'd b. 'Ubadah sought a ruling from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a vow his mother had made, then she died before fulfilling it. He said: "Fulfill it on her behalf."
