حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاذُ بْنُ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْجَمُوحِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
لَمَّا دُفِنَ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ سَبَّحَ فَسَبَّحَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ طَوِيلًا ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ فَكَبَّرَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مِمَّ سَبَّحْتَ؟ قَالَ «لَقَدْ تَضَايَقَ عَلَى هَذَا الرَّجُلِ الصَّالِحِ قَبْرُهُ حَتَّى فَرَّجَهُ اللهُ بِرَحْمَتِهِ»

✧ When Sa'd b. Mu'adh was buried and we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he glorified Allah, and the people glorified Allah with him for a long time. Then he said “Allahu akbar,” and the people said “Allahu akbar” with him. They said, “O Messenger of Allah, why did you glorify Allah?” He said, “The grave squeezed this righteous man severely, until Allah relieved him by His mercy.”
