✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent his companions, and they took captives from Banu al-Anbar, who were mukhaddramun and had already embraced Islam. Zubayb rode a she-camel of his, then went ahead of the people and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be your ransom! Your companions have taken captives from Banu al-Anbar, who are mukhaddramun and have already embraced Islam.' The Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Do you have proof, O Zubayb?' He said: 'Yes.' Samura b. Amr testified, and Zubayb swore. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Return to Banu al-Anbar everything that belongs to them.' So everything was returned to them except my mother's zurbiyya. Sa'd said: 'The zurbiyya is a velvet cloth.' Zubayb came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be your ransom! Everything belonging to Banu al-Anbar has been returned to them except my mother's zurbiyya.' The Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Do you know who took it?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'When the people attend the prayer, sit at the door of the mosque, and when you see the one who has it, hold on to him until he finishes the prayer, then settle between you and him.' He did so. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the prayer, he turned to him and said: 'O Zubayb, O brother of Banu al-Anbar, what do you want with your captive?' Zubayb burst into tears and let the man go. He said: 'Good; we want Allah and His Messenger.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the man: 'Do you have the zurbiyya of Zubayb's mother?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, it left my possession.' The Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Take off your sword for him and add some measures of food.' He did so. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew near to Zubayb and passed his hand over his head until he brought it down to his navel. Zubayb said: 'I felt the coolness of the Prophet's ﷺ palm on my navel.' Then he said: 'O Allah, grant him pardon and well-being.' Then Zubayb departed with the sword and sold it for two young she-camels from the Prophet's ﷺ sadaqah. They bred with Zubayb until they reached a hundred and more.
