حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ
مُطِرْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ قَالَ هَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ؟ قَالَ مَا أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَى عِبَادِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ إِلَّا أَصْبَحَ فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ بِهَا كَافِرُونَ يَقُولُونَ مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَأَمَّا مَنْ آمَنَ بِي وَحَمِدَنِي عَلَى سُقْيَايَ فَذَاكَ الَّذِي آمَنَ بِي وَكَفَرَ بِالْكَوْكَبِ وَأَمَّا مَنْ قَالَ مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَذَاكَ الَّذِي آمَنَ بِالْكَوْكَبِ وَكَفَرَ بِي
Translation

✧ We were given rain during the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ. When morning came, he said: “Do you know what your Lord said tonight? He said: ‘I have not bestowed any blessing upon My servants except that a group of them became disbelievers in it, saying, “We were given rain by such-and-such a star.” As for the one who believes in Me and praises Me for My rain, that is the one who has believed in Me and disbelieved in the star. And as for the one who says, “We were given rain by such-and-such a star,” that is the one who has believed in the star and disbelieved in Me.’”
