حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ أَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ قَالَ
مُطِرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْحُدَيْبِيَةِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَمَّا أَصْبَحْنَا «أَتَدْرُونَ مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ؟» قُلْنَا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَصْبَحَ مِنْ عِبَادِي الْيَوْمَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَكَافِرٌ فَأَمَّا الَّذِي يَقُولُ مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَذَاكَ كَافِرٌ بِي مُؤْمِنٌ بِالْكَوْكَبِ وَأَمَّا الَّذِي يَقُولُ هَذِهِ رَحْمَةٌ وَهَذَا رِزْقُ اللهِ فَذَاكَ مُؤْمِنٌ بِي كَافِرٌ بِالْكَوْكَبِ

✧ We were given rain with the Messenger of God ﷺ at al-Hudaybiyyah. The Prophet ﷺ said when morning came: “Do you know what your Lord said?” We said: “God and His Messenger know best.” He said it twice, then said: “Some of My servants this morning are believers and some are disbelievers. As for the one who says, ‘We were given rain by such-and-such a star,’ that one is a disbeliever in Me and a believer in the star. And as for the one who says, ‘This is a mercy and provision from God,’ that one is a believer in Me and a disbeliever in the star.”
