حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ
صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْحُدَيْبِيَةِ عَلَى أَثَرِ سَمَاءٍ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا مَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ؟ قَالَ مَا أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَى عِبَادِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ إِلَّا أَصْبَحَ فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ بِهَا كَافِرُونَ فَأَمَّا مَنْ حَمِدَنِي عَلَى سُقْيَايَ وَأَثْنَى عَلِيَّ فَذَاكَ آمَنَ بِي وَكَفَرَ بِالْكَوْكَبِ وَأَمَّا مَنْ قَالَ مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَذَاكَ الَّذِي آمَنَ بِالْكَوْكَبِ وَكَفَرَ بِنِعْمَتِي

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ led us in prayer at al-Hudaybiyyah after rainfall. When he finished, he said: “Did you not hear what your Lord said tonight? He said: ‘I have not bestowed any blessing upon My servants except that a group of them became disbelievers in it. As for the one who praises Me for My rain and extols Me, that one has believed in Me and disbelieved in the star. And as for the one who says, “We were given rain by such-and-such a star,” that is the one who has believed in the star and disbelieved in My blessing.’”
