✧ That a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “O Messenger of God, my son was a hired worker for this man and he committed adultery with his wife. They told us that my son was subject to stoning, so I ransomed him with a slave girl and a hundred sheep. Then the people of knowledge told me that my son was subject to a hundred lashes and exile for a year, and that stoning was upon this man's wife.” He said, I think: “So judge between us according to the Book of God.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, I will certainly judge between you according to the Book of God: as for the sheep and the slave girl, they are to be returned to you; as for your son, he is subject to a hundred lashes and exile for a year.” And he said to a man from Aslam called Unays: “Rise, O Unays, and ask this man's wife, and if she confesses, stone her.”
