حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ زَيْدَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ يُحَدِّثُ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ تُوُفِّيَ بِخَيْبَرَ فَذَكَرَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ» فَتَغَيَّرَتْ وُجُوهُ الْقَوْمِ لِذَلِكَ فَلَمَّا رَأَى الَّذِي بِهِمْ قَالَ «إِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ غَلَّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ» فَفَتَّشْنَا مَتَاعَهُ فَوَجَدْنَا خَرَزًا مِنْ خَرَزِ الْيَهُودِ مَا يُسَاوِي دِرْهَمَيْنِ

✧ A Muslim man died at Khaybar, and it was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: "Pray over your companion." The faces of the people changed because of that. When he saw what had befallen them, he said: "Your companion has stolen from the spoils in the cause of Allah." We searched his belongings and found beads from the beads of the Jews worth two dirhams.
