حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْمَقَارِيضِيُّ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حُوتِيٍّ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْمَكِّيُّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ الْمُحَلِّمِيِّ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ تَزْعُمُ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ يَأْكُلُونَ وَيَشْرَبُونَ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُعْطَى قُوَّةَ مِائَةِ رَجُلٍ فِي الْأَكْلِ وَالشُّرْبِ وَالْجِمَاعِ وَالشَّهْوَةِ»

✧ A man from the People of the Book came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “O Abu al-Qasim, you claim that the people of Paradise eat and drink.” He said: “Yes, by the One in whose hand is my soul, indeed a man will be given the strength of a hundred men in eating, drinking, sexual intercourse, and desire.”
