حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ السَّيْلَحِينِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ شِمَاسَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ حَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نُؤَلِّفُ الْقُرْآنَ مِنَ الرِّقَاعِ إِذَا قَالَ «طُوبَى لِلشَّامِ» قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَلِمَ ذَاكَ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّ مَلَائِكَةَ الرَّحْمَنِ بَاسِطَةٌ أَجْنِحَتَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ»

✧ While we were around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ compiling the Qur'an from parchments, he suddenly said: "Blessed is Syria (al-Sham)." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, why is that?" He said: "Because the angels of the Most Merciful spread their wings over them."
